Cooking

Steaming

The most popular and arguably the best way to cook blue crabs. Steaming preserves the delicate flavor and keeps the meat moist. Simply place crabs in a steamer basket over boiling water, sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning (or your favorite blend), and steam for 15-20 minutes.

Boiling

Another classic method, similar to steaming. Boil crabs in heavily seasoned water for about 10-15 minutes. Some prefer the slightly more intense flavor imparted by boiling.

Crab Boil/Low Country Boil

A festive and communal way to enjoy crabs. Combine crabs with corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage, and other vegetables in a large pot and boil or steam. Serve everything together on a large table for a fun and interactive meal.
